Emmalene's Spring Outfit

Emmalene received this outfit as a gift from a friend of mine. She looks like a little Easter egg in the cute colors, polka dots and stripes. Only a little girl could pull off this look! My friend found the outfit in a little boutique in our town. Too cute!

The above pictures were taken before church. The following were taken after church. Meaning NO nap!

So pitiful!
Tears still don't wipe away the cute factor!

Orange Sushine!

Look at the color of this orange shirt against Emmalene's skin.
She looks like a ray of sunshine!
This was taken while playing outside one evening last week.
Orange is definitely her color!

Feeding the birds...with a little style!

There are a lot of scrub jays that are in our neighborhood early in the morning and evening looking for food. If you put a few peanuts in your hand, they'll land on your fingertips and eat right from your hand! They're nails are sharp, but they've never hurt us. It's very cool!

Here's Madison holding out some food with a little pizazz in her feeding technique.

Emmalene's Motor Sports

Emmalene NOW loves to play on the scooter that belongs to Madison. It's actually for the American Girl dolls. A few months ago, Madison got the scooter out and tried to push Emmalene around on it. There was NO way that was going to happen. There were tears, loud crying and lots of anger! Time heals all wounds!

Dance!

Madison practices all the time for her recital. She loves to dance!
Madison's toe shoes are on her feet everyday. She loves to strap them on and practice. She doesn't complain about the pain, but I'm sure it has to hurt! :(
Practice makes perfect!
A beautiful ballerina!

Build-A-Kid

At one time, Madison loved Build-A-Bear. It's a store in most large malls that allows you to choose a stuffed animal, actually stuff it, and then dress it. When we were in the area of one, Madison would get excited about getting a new outfit for her bear. It's a very cute store that allows you to spend as much or as little as you wish.

Over the years, Madison has collected a few outfits and shoes from the store. Although she hasn't played with the bear in a while, it still sits on her bed when it's made.
One afternoon last week, Madison got the shoes out that fit her bear and tried them on Emmalene. This resulted in some hilarious photos and quite a few laughs!

Climbing!

Emmalene is busy. Busy getting into cabinets, pushing her cart of toys around the house, unrolling the toilet paper, pulling things off the end tables, and now...busy climbing onto the kitchen chairs!

I turned away from the table to clean the kitchen when I heard Madison yell Emmalene's name like something was wrong. Of course, I turned around quickly to see what was going on and there she was...climbing onto the chair. She sat up there so proud of herself and even let out a little giggle!

So now Emmalene is even more busy!

Madison's Prayer

Our family went out to eat for my dad's birthday yesterday. Before we started to eat, my dad asked Madison to pray. At first, Madison looked directly at me. I then repeated to her what my dad asked her to do. Normally, she acts a little shy about doing it when we're out of the house. I expected her to decline, but she surprised all of us when she bowed her head and prayed. This was no typical kid prayer. This was an amazing prayer of blessing for my dad to have a great birthday, the food and protection for all of us during the upcoming week! It was beautiful!

In the car ride home, Bruce and I continued to praise her for offering up such a beautiful prayer and for making not only us proud, but God the proudest!

Madison's AR Time

Madison is required to read twenty minutes every night for AR. This is her least favorite part of school. We try to get her to read in the office, in our bedroom or hers to allow her to concentrate on her book. She, like Emmalene, doesn't like to miss anything! So, she decided to read by the front door. Well, Emmalene took notice and within seconds thought floor time meant playtime.

Emmalene was rubbing on Madison's head and trying to snuggle with her at the front door.

Madison decided to lay on the floor which Emmalene thought this was funny. So, she started rubbing her back and trying to get Madison to play peek-a-boo with her.

When Madison kept reading, Emmalene grabbed a toy and climbed onto her back. Regardless, Emmalene enjoyed herself. I'm not sure how much Madison comprehended during this AR time, but it made for a few cute photos and sweet moments that you just can't plan.

Rise and shine!

As you can see from the view outside, it was VERY early when Emmalene decided to get up. She was so happy and full of energy that before long we were all just as awake as she was. I snapped a few photos of her in these cute pajamas just before she ate breakfast.

Emmalene normally gets up around 7 AM during the week. With everybody moving around in the morning, she doesn't want to miss out on the action!

Daddy's Hat

Bruce slipped his hat on Emmalene's head and then she hammed it up for these photos!

Who needs toys?

Who needs toys when you've got a great hiding spot? Emmalene likes to crawl into this cabinet in the kitchen to play. Sometimes she takes a few stuffed animals in there with her.

Another great spot is the drawer under the oven. Even though there is a large sauce pan and lid, she plays around it - when the oven isn't on!

Sometimes we have to go on a savenger hunt to find missing pacifiers, sippy cups, etc. You never know what you'll find in these hiding places!

Garage Sale Finds

I love a good garage sale! Especially if they have great kid clothes. Over the years I have found great deals on clothes for Madison and now I'm finding some for Emmalene. My mom has found lots too and sends them our way. The following photos are a few pieces that I picked up recently for Emmalene:
